One inch should be just enough. Air would work just as well as a servo. We went with a servo because our main air valve is in the wing and we didn't want another pressure connection to deal with...

Seems like there is a lot of interest in the Corsair tailwheel build from Lukes plan's. Ours is about 90% done. Just working on fabricating a fiberglass shell for the tailwheel doors and working...
