The question will be if Eddie fixed the stab issue (harder stock). I am going to put flying wires on my tail section just to give it more stiffness, its just too soft. I should have replaced it completely, now I am kicking myself. I am in the process of covering it now, should have the fuse done soon, but I have been waffling on the colors/scheme of it. All I have to do is cover the fuse, the tail surfaces and nose are covered now, so I have to get the fuse done and re-assemble, then cover the wing. Still not sure I like where the colors are going, I will have to see what it looks like when its done. Not to mention, I have to make sure I can easily (and QUICKLY) tell the difference between top/bottom while its in the air!
Pics should be coming soon (hopefully), but I am moving slower than expected!

WOW........I really love that Orange/Black combination. The bottom side really "pops"!!
I'm not quite that far along......Big stuff is constructed, I just have to fiber glass the wing and fuse, lock down the stab, build the cowl and canopy. Finish sand and then monocote!!!
BUT IT DID MOTIVATE ME.......
THANKS!!!!

I'm going threw tough times and need to start thining the fleet. I really don't want to sell my Flying Machine but I figured I would let you guys have a look. I built it three years ago and have only a about 20 flights on it. I used a 46 AX with pipe. I'm a expert builder so this plane is solid. at this point I'm not willing to ship it. If anyone is interested through some numbers at me. Remember this is not an ARF, I won't give it away.

I picked the Flying Machine up from Andy tonight and had a very good visit. Pictures don't do the airplane justice. Now to get it flying. Andy had the plane set up for a pipe. I'm going to take the easy way out and not going to use one. I've a Magnum 46XL that should be a drop in fit for the OS 46AX. Plus a 6 channel Hitec 2.4 receiver and some HS 425 BB servos that should be a pretty good fit. The LiFE battery pack I have is too large so I have something I need to purchase.
Might need a spinner also but I need to check my stock. I'm a happy camper.

Nice Batman! I wish I had a picture of my last one, It was kind of covered like Eddie Van Halen's older guitar with all of the different size stripes going every which way, and it looked pretty cool, had a fluorescent lime-green color as the base. The bat wings really show up good on that one, makes the up/down identification easy too!
Nice!

Thanks Bill, guess I should have checked first. Its good to know that at least you can still get the short kit, I know it contains almost all of the wood you need, other than wing sheeting I think.

That is soooo sweet Dave!!! How's she run with the mac's pipe? If you don't already have it, check out the high volume mac's pipe made just for the 50-55AX type engines! It makes a huge difference, huge. This plane deserves some carbon gear from Graph Tech.....

Thanks guys for the kind remarks.
I forgot to show the bottom. I found an article online about color theory for models recommending light on top dark on bottom with the top contrasting pattern making an arrow shape pointing the flight direction at a distance when the colors fade to gray. Red on the leading edge of the wing with the white band behind is suppose to make the edge visible and show the latitude of the plane as it descends. I have several gray planes that are a bugger to see, so I wanted this hot rod to be visible. I do have the newer mac pipe as Ernie suggests, but this plane has not been run yet, it is still cold here in the north. Dave
