I think that there should be some packing pieces...

I think that there should be some packing pieces in the kit that lifts the retract unit a little. This might give you enough clearance without the retract/wheel sticking out (you can see it in the...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

In full scale aviation I have seen highly professional companies release a whole batch of faulty parts on more than one occasion. One of the faulty batch of parts that I saw meant that when the...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I'm guessing that the differences are just due to people's setups and flying styles but seeing as there seem to be 2 distinct groups of experiences with this model makes me wonder, do CARF only have...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

These newer radios are a bit beyond me but why are you using butterfly and camber for the gear?

Just use a 'normal' channel (such as gear). Camber and butterfly mixing may add additional...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Tumbler,

I'm not sure if it's the same on later models but my old Futaba had ATV and AFR. ATV is adjustable travel that sets the far extremes that the servo is allowed to travel. AFR is a...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Tumbler, I'll try and help but my Futaba set is old school so some of the names of functions might have changed.

I'm not sure if you have installed the servo yourself but the travel of the spool...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Page 21 of the manual, under 'Nosegear'.

The manual calls for you to make a U shape with it to centre the nose gear as it retracts. I didn't do this but did have to set up the noseleg very...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Jeremy,

I've only built a classic flash but the only use I can see from the manual for the thin flimsy ply is during the construction of the blocks that attach to the gear legs and hold the gear...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Dave,

I fully understand that the military scheme would be more expensive. That looks a nightmare to paint [X(] I can also understand why CARF would want to limit stock in local warehouses to...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

The new sport scheme is now on the CARF website. I was interested to see what price rise would accompany the new scheme but was pleasantly surprised to see that it is the same price as the old sport...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I loved my Classic Flash and was always tempted with an Ultra but, to my eyes, the top of the wings always looked odd and I had an inkling that it might be due to the flow direction of the colour...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

You guys are nuts[X(]

Ali's 160 version is great for demonstrating how strong the model is, and is brilliant for shows, but for everday 'club' flying I can't see anyone ever really needing...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I've spun the Classic Flash erect and inverted and it recovers like a sports prop model - very easy.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I fitted Jet 1A retracts to my Classic Flash and had to remove some of the curved wood to get the retract to fit. I assume that the wheels do have the brakes fitted at the moment?

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Some of the design improvements look good but I do like the tip tanks of the standard Flash as it makes it really easy to see. I hope they don't stop production of the old one (or if they do, sell...
