Oh, the HL 1/16 4X4 (and future 6X6) trucks they were showing on FB? It would be interesting to know the quality before I get my hopes up.

I think Greg means the upcoming release from Heng Long. There's a good thread at RCTW and that says they should be in stock by October, about 50 pounds plus shipping.

Hey Tom, I saw several different estimates from 45 pounds to 70 pounds, with and without shipping and didn't know what was accurate so that's why I said "about" 50. If they're less that's great. Will that free shipping from Andrew include the U.S.?

I'll take two.

Greg, how did you make that photo post that large? I can only get it to make thumbnails.

Has anyone seen photos of the 6x6?

That is the first 6x6 photo I have seen. All have been the 4x4 that is not a real truck. Its a copy of a what we call a "Bobbed Duce"
The 6x6 is a US M35a2 2 1/2 ton truck. Manufactured by many companies but all the same. Reo, Studebaker, GMC etc etc.
Guys by a Duce then cut the frame short and remove the rear axle and then put a trailer bed on the frame or shorten the box, which is harder.
I would be interested in the 6x6 but a guy that reads cahngi writing told me the 4x4 is $1,000 bucks. That's a ton of cash for a truck.

Yep those are the ones I was speaking of in reply #2 but you guys only look at the pictures, huh. LOL. He said, she said... at a $1,000.00 and you might as well buy 2 CROSS RC trucks so let's wait and get an accurate price.

But I would rather assemble my truck than pull it out of a box.

The thread at RCTW says they're available for pre-order right now at 45 pounds with free shipping to the UK and mainland Europe, but I haven't been able to find out about shipping to the U.S.

I have a request in for a link to the website and I'll post it as soon as I get it (but after my own order for two is in!) 45 pounds is about 60 bucks in Uncle Sam paper so I think two are in order. One to play with and one to convert to something else.

Yeah really, what's one more affordable toy to expand the soft skin side of our hobby. Just not at an arm and a leg.

I'm still trying to decide on a tank hauler truck, so 6 ~ 8 wheels is the target. It's gotta pull a 13 pound tank and a trailer so it can't be wimpy.

Calm down, Big Fella. Take a look at this. We don't pay VAT, so it's 33.33 pounds for us ($43.20) but I imagine we'll have to pay shipping.

truck

I'm thinking about ordering at least one.

Just tried to buy one. After paypal authorization I got a message that said my order could not be placed because they don't ship to my location. I sent an email and asked for more info. I'll keep ya posted.

Tom... Rich is the one claiming the $1,000.00 price. I said lets all wait first and complain later because I can't believe they would cost more than even the BEAST II 6X6.
