Great work Gibb!!!!!!!!!! I am busy with one for a customer in Cape Town SA. I just want to ask where did you finally manage to get a canopy for her. My customer has mailed the supplier stated on Hostetler plans but has had no reply. I've also just mailed them and hope to get a response.

its been about a year since I purchased the canopy.
I have his address if you want it. I just don't feel right posting it on rcu as it may be a home address.

Now that you've flown it, what do you think as far as the power out of your 70? Way more than enough? Just right?
Reason I ask is I'm gathering the pieces for a Hostetler Cherokee. 108 inch also and very similar to your Bonanza. I'd really like to put the OS 320 (53cc) Pegasus engine in it but I get mixed reviews as to it being up to the task.
One issue I will have with mine is the cowl. Hostetlers plans are for the Cherokee 140. I plan to model the 180C. Near identical structurally except for the cowl. So that's one area I'll need to do the hard way.
Oh, and where did you get your wheels from?

I think the 70 is a perfect match at 35 lbs. And I fly mostly at half power except for climbing. In fact, I like this little engine. Starts and runs really well. However er, it is a Chinese cheapie. So, not sure of the longevity.
The wheels and brakes are ...Im not sure if they are gene Barton or Sierra, or ??? . I got em in the deal for the gear.
The more I fly this plane, the more I like it. So forgiving and the stall speed is really low. Never seems to drop a wing.

As I gather the pieces for my Cherokee I'm beginning to wonder if just getting my private ticket and buying a real one would have been cheaper?

Hi Gibb. I got one reply from Danny and never again so I will do my own canopy. Just a question, where did you get your panel line and rivet detail from as I can't find anything decent on the net.

I don't know if you have seen it but there is a Bonanza F33A build going on. Vince has done a great job of reproducing the corrugations on page 30.
