The tanks came with tygon. I don’t like to use tygon inside tanks as it gets stiff very quickly. I’ll use BV’s in tank fuel tubing.

I was also told that the main dubro tires will roll right off and that I should switch them over to harder Robart tires. I was a little skeptical, but by just tugging on the tires I could see that they can easily come off.

For comparison, take a look at what this kit looked like in 2005. You guys have got it easy!

Hi, Im changing my tank lines to Viton (purchased at McMaster). On the wheels I was advised that once you glue them to the rim it will work ok.

Bogo has upped his game in the shipping area where I see he has replaced the heavy corrugated boxes with wooden crates. Excellent idea in my mind with this class of airframe. The fun begins now Rav.

Yes I agree with Edgar, I have used the tire CA by Bob Smith Industries and have had no problem with them slipping on the rim.

Yes, those boxes are nice. There were foot prints all over the place! I bet it was the DHL people! I certainly wouldn’t think that Bogo et. al., would be walking all over them.

I was thinking that I would have to use a razor saw to cut access for the turbines in the pods, but to my amazement, the whole inner structure comes right out with 4 bolts!! All the angles are worked out for you and mibo throws in a ready built FOD screen!

Yes Rav
Very handy to do maintenance on. Same as the 5.5 on that one. Pay special attention to the exhaust tubes on where the blast hits the tube, mine prematurely wore out there.

First question: Do these rails that stick out below the flaps stay there?

Nice photos
One thing I wonder is how to cover the pin used to open the hatch. I don't see it exposed on internet videos, so thinking there may be an antenna or something that is covering it.

Mine are the same. I think the full scale has something similar.
Just need to be painted.

These might help with the flap rail question.

Yes, thank you Edgar and Malcom.

Attached you can see there are some protrusions in the same area in the full scale.

Edgar, I’ve been thinking about what you asked and I’ve had the idea for a while that there is an antenna that magnetically mounts to the top of the fuse which you can pull off and then have access to the hatch.

i got an email from Bogo explaining:I notice your question on RCU regarding hatch pin of top of fuselage on A10. If you are building old "A" or "B" version is on pi attached standard antenna (see attached photo). If you will build new "C" version have all planes new ANR/BLOSS antennas which we designed so that is removable and covers hatch pin.

Yup! That’s it!

My my mibo is missing the top part of that antenna. Hopefully, Bogo will send it out to me with my Gatling gun.

I thought my fowler flaps were a bit sticky. I used some dry lube spray on the rails and it really smoothed out the mechanism.

Transporting and storing a big A-10 is always a concern. I started with a stand which will eventually have 4 wheels, storage for both the fuselage and the wings(with ordinance) with the resting spots correlating with former positions for strength.

A few other musts for my stand is to make sure I can get the wings on one at a time while keeping the jet stable (ie the jet won’t want to tip over), one wing can be stored with the aluminum/titanium phenolic tube already installed and the ability to cycle the gear unimpeded.

These are the initial iteration so far.
