Default JetCat P-160RXi-B

Has anyone gotten their hands on the new P-160RXi-B yet?

It seems like the release was pretty quiet, is there any additional info out there on the motor?

I have sold quite a few. Two going in a SM A-10 I’m building now. The turbine came about because of the 180NX. The 140-180 turbines were pretty much the same size, so having a 140 ( actually 142N) and 180 ( actually 175N) plus the 180 NX with the brushless starter generator made no sense, so the 140 was dropped, 180 dropped and the 160Rxi-B slotted between but at a price pretty close to the 140Rxi-B. The 160 suits models like the CARF Viper perfectly, the 140 not enough and 180 bit too much. The 160 also goes in UF and other models where you might want a bigger turbine later.

The brushless pump gets over the variable quality brushed motors now produced. So the range is now 100, 160, 180NX and 220Rxi,

Thanks for the feedback.
The RCJI article was very informative and answered my questions. I also really like the comparison chart for all the different turbines. Thanks!

Hi Colin, with apology to others for being off subject, I thought the coverage of Jet Power on the latest issue was the best since I have been subscribed to the magazine. It actually said what is the products and whom is from which it always lacked.
Best of continued luck.

Hi Behzad,

Many thanks for your kind words - now that the magazine is owned by two active jet modellers we aim to produce the best and most informative magazine we can, and it is great to hear that our readers enjoy and appreciate what we produce.

Thanks again,

sorry for going away from the thread subject. Are you going to do a review of the A10? Do you think it will be under 20 kg with the 160’s?

I wasn't going to since there are build threads, but I will update the thread. I've already saved 5oz on the turbine rails. No, no chance of it being under 20KG.

Any "long term" reviews on this 160?

I maybe getting a couple of them.

We have several doing really well. Not surprising since it’s a turned down 180 Rxi-B.

dave, the 160 in the a-10 isnt too much weight in the back? I have the kit, keep going back and forth on the turbines... smaller lighter, or big dogs. plan to fly with ordinance.

Since then the P-130Rx was released...with nearly 160N, so I have swapped to those. But I have flown the A10 with big JetCats and it coped no problem with the weight.

You guys not read RCJi magazine?
Colin does monthly turbine tests in real world conditions. The 130 made nearly 160N. The 130 was what they aimed at, but the results were much better...

I do read it, when I can!

I do remember reading about a turbine Colin reviewed and that it output quite a bit more than advertised. I just didn’t remember the detail.

The 160 Rxi is more than 160 and 130 substantially more :-)
