Great comment Jack!
It looks a super plane too. I wish I had the flying skills to indulge in such capers...

Thanks Brian and Jack,

Brian, don't be put off by such things being too difficult to fly.
In fact the Spitfire is surprisingly stable.
I flew it at my club on Sunday (usually I only fly more serious models at the club, saving the frivolous little park flyers for my local reserve).
Despite rather blustery conditions it would easily fly the length of the circuit hands off.
Surprised a few of the ARF brigade!

It is however very responsive, since the first flights I have been progressively reducing throws and increasing exponential, I'm now down to 1/8" each way and 50% expo (started at 1/4" each way and 25% expo).
Things are getting smoother!
I haven't tested it yet, but I would think it will bounce OK if I have a brain fade.

There's not much time invested - go on give a lively little thing a go - variety keeps things interesting.

Very nice looking Spitfire Warren. Do you think that one could be made into a Ebenezer free flight model?

I think it would make a fine Ebenezer, but even at 30" it's quite lively on the Merlin, would need to be run a lot slower or use a smaller engine, perhaps a Dart or MP Jet Classic.

There was a plan for a Spitfire Ebenezer in Aeromodeller 1999 Issue 767.
It was only about 20"-ish span and had a PAW 80 installed.

The PAW 80 is quite a bit faster than a DC Merlin, so this must have been more than "lively".

Here's one for you. It's a Goldberg Anniversary Cub with clipped wings, and a PAW .40, done up in red Solartex, with white Monokote accents. I hope to maiden it soon!

And now for something completely different! This started out as a Great Planes Super Sportster .60 kit, and got bashed a bit. In fact, the only parts I used out of the kit were the ribs. There is a complete build log in the twins section if you're interested. Twin OS FP 40s with Davis heads and 12 x 4 XOAR props. This will fly later this summer, I hope.

Default Miss America 84"

Miss America. K700 7 cc engine.

Plenty of thrust with a 13 x 6 JXF composite prop. Most flying is at idle speed.

Here is Enya SS15 diesel mounted in Phoenix Model Sonic Mk2 Low-Wing.
The airframe is originally designed for .25-30 glow engine, but .15 diesel is quite sufficient with 9x5 prop at ~10000 rpm.

Here's a PK Apex. Power plant is an Aurora Mills 1.00 c.c. Still not painted as it has some vicious warps after a particularly hot wet and humid Queensland summer. Warps are now almost tamed.

G’day gents, I haven’t seen much going on in this thread for a while and thought that I’d post some pics of my Teeny Trainer power plant is a PAW 100, fuel tank is an Aeroflyte no 7 (for those of you from “down under”).
I’ve made it 3 channel, throttle, elevator and rudder.
Its not far off post construction ground runs and test flying, bit of finishing off work to do yet

@ FSII
I like your Teeny Trainer, reminds me of the Honker minus the undercamber in the wing.
